Shop Your Closet - Shoes!!

This summer wouldn't be complete without an update of my shoe inventory! Looking back, I think the last three posts have been about shoes. Not surprisingly, after a few acquisitions, I grew tired of looking at an outdated snapshot of what was in my closet.
I should show you sometime the line of shoe boxes stacked on the top shelf of my closet. It's like a game show: "I'll take the blue box for white sandals. Wrong; that should be red box for white sandals." Labels plus an actual photo of my shoe collection really helps me out. When considering accessories, tops, bottoms (or a dress), as well as undergarments, I'd rather streamline what I can in the process. So I tack these pix to the inside of my closet and voila! a visual storehouse.
Confession: I reclaimed a pair of flip-flops from my last purge, and I am finally getting rid of a pair of holey sneakers from the last go-thru. Newly ousted are my Nina 3/4" platform sandals with a sparkle accent taken from a clothing swap. They are EXCRUCIATING over a long period of time, as I found out for my cousin's wedding. Also - impossible to dance in, even to tame wedding music. Possibly worse are a pair of Italian-made black patent pumps I am giving away. The narrow width is the WORST feeling for my wide feet. Doh!

Big black boots!

On a positive note, I now own an excellent pair of running shoes, some tall shiny boots, and black leather Naturalizers. For my brother's recent wedding, I bought a pair of black/straw platform sandals. Cheap-o at ten bucks. My sister-in-law also gave out grey sequined flip flops to certain gals. I'm wearing them now, my favorite piece of summer gear.
What isn't shown here are my fuzzy doggy slippers and my tan suede work-boots. In total, I have 36 pairs of footwear. YowZah!!
Small disclaimer: I had to keep the light pink and white sneakers a little while longer. I'm saving them for the upcoming Warrior Dash I'm doing in the Flint, MI area this Sunday. There's only a small chance of keeping them after that. The Dash seems to turn your once useful shoes into permanent homes of mud.

Top: Warrior Dash shoes.                      Others clockwise from top left: tennis, running, swing dancing, spikes, jazz dancing, walking, garden/garage, and sentimental-value faux All-Stars.
